The first time I heard the name "Jesus Christ"
was when my mom
used it as a swear word.
Seriously, Swear to God
I was about 10 y/o before I learned different.

It bothers me very much when I hear the name of Jesus used as a swear word on television or by someone I know. It's as if they're trying to use it in order to have an effect. But the only effect is showing the listener(s) that they have a very limited vocabulary and a serious lack of imagination. Also, a lack of respect.
hmmm...I know the feeling. There is this giant semi-truck that parks along the freeway frontage roads and it's painted with "JESUS CHRIST IS LORD" and in smaller case below, "not a swear word". For some reason, I haven't quite pinned down yet, it doesn't sit right with me. I need to figure that one out I suppose. It's seem disrespectful or something.
